The following are some important guidelines for the preparation of Poster Presentations to be displayed at the 12th World Lake Conference: Taal 2007. Authors whose abstracts have been accepted for Poster Presentation must follow the instructions carefully and strictly.
Posters not adhering to the guidelines may not be allowed for display.
Poster Format
Dimensions
- Poster width should not exceed 90 cm (36 inch).
- Poster height should not exceed 110 cm (45 inch).
Design and Format
- Minimize use of text and tables.
- Graphs, charts and illustrations are best.
- Use large bold lettering for easier reading (minimum font size: 24pt or 28pt for Title; 14pt Arial for text).
- The posters (including symbols in graphs) should be readable from at least 2.5m distance.
- Use colour to enhance the poster appearance. Add photographs where appropriate.
Content
- Title should be in BOLD AND UPPERCASE, followed by authors’ name and affiliation; include email and web addresses if applicable. Identify the presenter. A photograph is often useful.
- Summary: No more than 200 words – Only major findings. Avoid Introduction in the summary.

- Materials and/or Methods
- Results or Expected Results
- Discussion
- Conclusion
Use borders or white space to separate sections.
Mounting
Velcro patches will be provided to install the posters on the surface of the board.
Adhesive Tapes are not desirable and must be avoided.
Poster Presentation Sessions / Set-up and tear-down
Poster Session I (30 October 2007)
- Setup your posters on Poster boards latest by 28 October 2007 evening 8:00pm.
- Remove your posters on 31 October 2007 morning 8:00am to 9:00am.
Poster Session II (01 November 2007)
- Setup your posters on Poster boards by 31 October 2007 before lunch 1:00pm.
- Remove your posters on 2 November 2007 evening 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
